  1. Hello, I am a Senior Sanitarian for the City of Medford Public Health Dept. We received a Plan Review application for 121 Riverside Ave for the after school program. Malden YMCA is running the after-school program and has proposed that food is to be delivered by Family Food Services/Emily’s Inc. (Chelsea, Mass). Please call me so we can discuss. Thank you, Kim Fowler, 781-393-2564

My question pertains to Section 8. I would like to know when you say sign up for Section 8 waiting list do you already have to have a Voucher or are you applying for the voucher? I know some people get confused. If so, I would like an application to apply for Section 8 if that is possible.

      Good Morning,
You can come into the Administrative Office of the Medford Housing Authority at 121 Riverside Avenue, Medford, MA, or you can call at 781-396-7200 and ask that an application be sent to you. You can also go online and print out an application. There is a Centralized Waiting List that includes multiple (100+) cities and towns. Medford has a preference for Medford residents and people who work in Medford.

      Thank you.

      Linda,

Applicants who live or work in Medford have a preference over applicants that do not live or work in Medford. You certainly can have an application for public housing or Section 8. If you are interested in the Section 8 Program you can live in any city you choose. Please note on the back of the Section 8 application all of the cities and towns included on the Centralized Waiting List. If you have further questions regarding either program, please call 781-396-7200. I hope I have answered your question.

      Thank you.

  6. Can you please instruct as to how to set up a meeting with 3rd party liason due to repeated personal, destructive or negative and biased interference towards other tenants which is a lease violation, from the trouble maker tenant who lives in the building , and who is overactive in her obsession.
This is a serious problem, that would require your attention. As this has been affecting the welfare, safety, and overall health and development of residents with disabilities within the managed housing development. As this type of problem would require special attention, and intervention services. I request your immediate attention. So that management protocol and process can be administered.

      Linda,
Please call the Section 8 Department where you received your voucher. They will instruct you as to how the rent is calculated and if you can afford a particular rent according to the location you are looking at. The payment standards are different from one town to the next.
